Café Culture Across the Borough

It’s hard to beat that morning coffee with a crisp croissant, or a new blend of beans to try at the weekend. Whether you like a fruity batch brew, punchy espresso or a silky flat white, the independent bakeries, brunch spots and roasteries across Greenford and the wider Borough of Ealing have you covered.

Transport from Greenford

Greenford is in the West London Borough of Ealing and neighbours the inner-city Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, and Brent. Greenford’s transport connections to central London mean there’s a variety of coffee shops and brunch venues only a tube or train ride away.

Ealing Broadway is a highly recommended stop-off for Greenford Quay residents, home to specialty roasteries and independent cafes. You can reach Ealing Broadway from Greenford via tube or train in under 20 minutes. Additionally, direct local buses run from Greenford town centre.

Roasteries in Ealing

Arise Coffee Roasters

The first of our recommended Ealing Parade venues is Arise Coffee. This independent roastery belongs to a London local and mother of three, who dreamed of having a coffee shop from 19 years old.

Arise roasts all coffee in-store to ensure the best quality of beans and flavours in each blend. Pick up their coffee by the bag to brew at home or sit in and enjoy an expertly crafted latte in-store.

Electric Coffee Co.

Electric Coffee Co. features in the Independent's Top 50 Coffee Shops for good reason. More than just a roastery, you can also choose from breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch classics while you sip a coffee in-store.

Located just off Ealing Broadway, Electric Coffee Co. is passionate about product quality and ethically sourced beans. They do business with fair trade farmers worldwide and have blends of coffee from over eighteen countries including Guatemala, Ethiopia and Brazil.

If you fall in love with one of its blends, you can get a subscription and enjoy your favourite roast monthly for less. The “Rocket 88” is particularly popular, mixing beans from Brazil and El Salvador.

Caffe Amici

Inspired by Italian cafe culture, Caffe Amici is a roastery in Ealing House, which is just a 15-minute walk from Ealing Broadway underground station.

Caffe Amici is perfect for those who prefer the deep, chocolaty flavours of Italian espresso. It offers coffee subscriptions to one of three blends: the Amici Original, Amici Napoli and its decaffeinated option. They also sell state-of-the-art coffee-making equipment, like the Eureka Mignon Libra Coffee Grinder.

Gail’s Bakery

Between the complimentary Wi-Fi, sweet and savoury pastries and the impressive selection of fresh sandwiches, Gails is ideal for work or study. When you need a refresh, grab a kombucha from the fridge or pair your lemon drizzle loaf with a cappuccino. Gail’s is one of the few chain bakeries that offer customers an independent feel.

Best for Brunch or a Bite to Eat

Sito’s Bakery Caffe

One of the newer cafes in Greenford, Sito’s is close to the Oldfield Lane North tube stop. This independent bakery specialises in popular Turkish and Eastern European pastries, like Burek, Banista and Baklava. Perfect for a light lunch or sweet treat, take a seat in-store and order your favourite coffee on the side.

Lyla’s

Lyla’s is a specialty coffee house on Greenford Avenue, a 10-minute walk from Drayton Green underground station and a 20-minute walk from West Ealing. It sells everything from your classic latte to a cortado or piccolo.

Doubling up as a bakery, Lyla’s also sells a variety of fresh bread, pastries and deli food. Pick up a classic halloumi and pesto sandwich to go or try one of Lyla’s creative savoury pastries, like a wild garlic swirl or the tomato jam twist.

Esquires Coffee

Only 10 minutes on foot from Greenford train station, Esquires covers all your brunch basics, like poached eggs and avocado, maple and bacon pancakes and mixed berry porridge.
