We caught up with one of the owners of BOXHYPE Greenford Quay, Akin, to find out what makes this new West London fitness hub so unique, who it’s designed for, and how it’s changing the way people approach their health, longevity and fitness.

What inspired you to start BOXHYPE?

BOXHYPE started from seeing that a lot of people wanted to get fit, feel stronger and build confidence, but didn’t always connect with the traditional gym environment. Boxing was always a big inspiration for us because of the discipline, focus and confidence it builds, but we also knew that people need more than one way to train. Not everyone wants to hit bags every day, and fitness should support different goals, different energy levels and different stages of someone’s journey. That’s why from the beginning, the idea was never just to create a boxing gym. We wanted to build a space that combines boxing with HIIT, yoga, Pilates, mobility and core, so people can train in a way that feels balanced, enjoyable and sustainable. More importantly, we wanted to create a real sense of community, a place where people feel welcomed, supported and part of something from the moment they walk through the door.

What’s your vision for the gym?

Our vision for BOXHYPE is to create a complete wellness and fitness space where people feel supported no matter where they are in their journey. Some members come for the energy and challenge of boxing and HIIT, while others really value the mobility, yoga and Pilates side because it helps them move better, recover and stay consistent. We want BOXHYPE to be known for offering that balance: High-energy training, strength, recovery and community all under one roof.

Why is BOXHYPE unique?

Most gyms leave people to figure things out for themselves; BOXHYPE removes that uncertainty. Every class is fully coached and combines boxing rounds, strength work, conditioning, and HYROX-style performance training. We offer a more affordable and sustainable alternative to personal training, providing small group classes that still deliver the coaching, structure, and accountability needed for real, long-term progress.

What kind of community are you building at BOXHYPE?

A cohesive one, where people recognise each other, encourage each other, and grow together. The kind of place where coaches know your name, members celebrate your progress, and missing a class means someone notices.

What type of classes or training methods can people expect beyond boxing?

Beyond boxing, members move through strength and conditioning, HIIT, HYROX-style sessions, mobility, yoga, Pilates, and recovery-led classes, with kickboxing also in development. We want members to feel they can build every part of their fitness in one place.

What’s next for BOXHYPE over the next 6-12 months?

More specialist classes, more recovery and mobility offerings, more community-led events, and a stronger presence in Greenford and across West London. The aim is to become West London’s go-to space for boxing-led fitness, performance training, and community.
